Family Fun Day
June 14, 2009
The 2009 Family Fun Day was a big, new event for the temple. It all started the night before as Bar BQ teams set up shop in the west parking lot and started cooking various meats for the Bar BQ contest. People arrived on Saturday to the smell of smoked meats. Also on Saturday was a carnival with Pat getting in the dunk tank. The Clowns hosted a fish pond for the little kids. The carnival also had a moon walk, a free throw shooting contest, a cake walk, a shriner drawing caricatures, and Raymond 'Tiny" Thurlow and his lady Dironda brought his 'girls', a team of Belgiun horses and their beer wagon and gave people rides around the block. In addition, one man topok his oath as a shriner from the Imperial Sir, as our Illustrious Sir and the Grand Master of Kansas Freemasons watched nearby. It was a good day.
